Jason Cundy: Everton were a disgrace in 2-1 defeat v Wolves

Jason Cundy has labelled Everton as a “disgrace” after their 2-1 defeat in the Premier League against Wolves last night.

The Toffees travelled to Molineux missing numerous key men, but were embarrassed for most of the contest in the midlands.

A late push from Rafa Benitez and his men wasn’t enough in the end, as they fell to yet another defeat in less-than-convincing style.

Speaking on talkSPORT after the game late last night, Cunday certainly didn’t hold back in his assessment of the Toffees.

“This is not an excuse for Everton,” he said. “The injuries they’ve got are to key players – you’ve got Calvert-Lewin, he starts.

“Gomes and Mina, there are three that all maybe start in this team that would have an influence. That aside, they were shocking first-half.

“They were a disgrace. Not engaging, not getting close enough. Give credit to Wolves.”

Everton

Shocker.

We have to admit, there were times when we simply couldn’t believe what we were watching last night at Molineux.

The goals conceded were embarrassing to say the least, and it was our big-name players letting us down – what on earth was Ben Godfrey doing?

The likes of Michael Keane and Mason Holgate were shocking once again, and the lack of options within the squad is really starting to hurt Benitez.

Unfortunately, the FFP rules are still somewhat holding the Toffees back, so we can’t exactly go and throw money at the problems in January.

Lucas Digne, Mina, Gomes and Calvert-Lewin are all still to return from injury, and when they do, we have to pray they help turn things around.
