Lucas Digne didn’t feel comfortable to play for Everton on Monday
Everton star Lucas Digne didn’t feel comfortable playing against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League on Monday.
In his press conference after the match, Rafael Benitez revealed that the Frenchman felt some discomfort, and he would have to monitor him ahead of the Tottenham Hotspur game [Liverpool Echo].
His team sorely missed the 28-year-old as Ben Godfrey had to fill in at left-back, which meant that Mason Holgate played in the middle, and he was awful.

Benitez said: “With Digne, we will see how he prepares. He was uncomfortable for this game, so didn’t play.”
Digne is hopeful of being involved against Spurs.
Given that Tottenham are about to appoint Antonio Conte, you would have thought that the Toffees need as many players back as possible to stop this poor run they find themselves on [Evening Standard].
If Godfrey has to play at left-back again and Yerry Mina isn’t fit then, Michael Keane might have to partner Holgate once more, which would be a nightmare for the Toffees [Liverpool Echo].
Therefore, it is vital that the Frenchman returns just to stop Holgate and Keane from playing together against the likes of Harry Kane and Heung-min Son.

Godfrey made a mistake for the second goal, but you would still rather he played in the centre than either Holgate or Keane, really.
However, judging by Benitez’s comments, there might not be much more information on Digne’s fitness until later in the week.
This means that it could be a nervous wait for Evertonians ahead of Benitez’s next press conference.
