Rafael Benitez makes Everton transfer admission
Rafael Benitez has indicated that Everton won’t have that much to spend in the January transfer window.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of the Tottenham Hotspur game, the Spaniard discussed the Toffees’ transfer plans [Liverpool Echo].
He revealed that he has held discussions with Marcel Brands about approaching January, but it appears as if they will have to be creative in the transfer market once again.

He said: “I had a conversation with Marcel, and he was explaining, not exactly, but more or less, the idea.
“When you go there and sit down and prepare your plan, it may change depending on injuries, depending on the performances of players.
“I feel that in this case, when we talk about the owner who is someone who has spent £400m in the last years, then we cannot blame him for that but at the same time, it is a pity that we couldn’t spend the money this year because of the financial fair play years.
“We have to be creative and think about how to manage the situation in the best way possible and be sure that in January we can be stronger.”
Benitez still suffering from the mistakes of others.
You have to say that Benitez has done a very good job with some players in his time at Goodison Park so far, with the likes of Demarai Gray, Abdoulaye Doucoure, and Andros Townsend all consistently delivering.
However, he has failed to help certain players and perhaps that is why he is looking at the transfer market.
The problem for Benitez is that he is being made to suffer for the mistakes made by others before him.

The huge amounts of money wasted on players who didn’t fit the club or who just didn’t perform has meant that Benitez has had to be creative.
It appears as if he is going to have to be the same in January, so you would think that he still won’t be able to build the team in his image yet.
Hopefully, he is given a chance to spend some more money next summer and really try and push the Toffees on.
In other Everton news, the Spaniard has been blown away by one of his players so far this season.
