Alistair Bruce-Ball reacts to moment Everton fans went wild
During live coverage of Everton against Tottenham Hotspur, Alistair Bruce-Ball claimed that the penalty incident sent the fans “wild”.
Speaking on BBC 5 Live, Bruce-Ball claimed that Everton showing their overturned penalty again on the big screen didn’t do Chris Kavanagh any favours.
Hugo Lloris appeared to have fouled Richarlison in the second half of the 0-0 draw with Tottenham, but after a long VAR check, the decision was overturned.

Then the incident came up on the big screens, which incensed some Toffees supporters.
Bruce-Ball said: “The Everton fans have just seen a replay of it on the big screen, and that has sent them wild.
They’ve had one look at it; it’s gone up on the screen; that doesn’t help the referee here; they don’t think it’s a penalty.”
Big moment in the game.
The rule for the use of VAR is that the decision has to be clear and obvious, and we don’t think there was enough in it for Kavanagh to change his mind, and the Toffees should have had a penalty.
However, it wasn’t to be, and they ended the game with ten men after Mason Holgate was sent off for a brutal challenge, so to come away with a point isn’t a bad result.

This draw stopped the rot, and the Toffees head into the international break on 15 points and can look to build on this display.
However, we do think they should have had a penalty, but after not getting it, the incident probably shouldn’t have been shown on the big screen.
In the end, it didn’t lead to any other problems, but we can’t imagine Kavanagh was too happy when he saw it appear back on the big screen.
