Kevin Campbell: Everton move for Harry Winks depends on Antonio Conte
We’re delighted to welcome former Everton striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week the former Toffees captain will be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Goodison Park…
Kevin Campbell has insisted that Everton could see a potential move for Harry Winks in January scuppered by new Spurs boss Antonio Conte.
It was reported by Caught Offside last week that the Toffees are among the favourites to land the England international in January.
Conte has since taken over at Spurs, and Campbell believes that the Italian will want a close look at all of his players before making any rash decisions.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Campbell said, “I think Conte is going to want to have a look at all of the players.
“With the previous manager, he wasn’t getting a game. This is the thing when a new manager comes in, everyone has got a clean sheet to impress the manager.
“Antonio Conte may fancy him, that one’s maybe on the backburner, if he doesn’t fancy Harry Winks, he could be a move for January.”

Small chance.
Even with the change in manager, it looks as though Winks isn’t getting much of a look-in under Conte.
The Spurs midfielder was once again on the bench at Goodison Park yesterday and was unused despite his side playing three days earlier on Thursday.
Conte preferred to hand Oliver Skipp and Pierre-Emile Hojberg another 90 minutes rather than rest potential tired legs.
Winks appears to have made little impact so far, and that doesn’t look like changing any time soon in the capital.
Could that open the door to a January move? Time will tell.
