Rafa Benitez praises Everton midfielder Fabian Delph
Everton boss Rafa Benitez has showered praise on midfielder Fabian Delph following his impressive performance against Tottenham.
The Toffees earned a 0-0 draw against Spurs on Sunday and avoided a fourth consecutive defeat.
Everton were arguably the better side of the two but the home side couldn’t convert their half-chances.

Delph, who made his return from injury in the defeat to Wolves, started the game against Spurs and made a huge impact.
It was Delph’s first start in 11 months and he was arguably one of the stand-out performers for the home side.
Benitez has been left impressed by the England international. The Spaniard has also praised rehabilitation coach Cristian Fernandez for the work he is doing.
“I will give credit to Delph. He is someone with experience, he can pass the ball and give us a little bit more control – but you can see he is still not at the level [full fitness],” Benitez told evertonfc.com.
Behind the scene work
The appointment of Fernandez was a strange one but it seems he is doing a brilliant job.
Everton appointed him in October. He previously worked with Benitez at Newcastle, and the Spaniard has brought him to Everton as well.

Rafa has revealed that they are working extremely hard to bring back some of their injured players to full training during the international break.
Everton are missing the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Abdoulaye Doucoure, Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes at the moment, but Benitez is hopeful that some of them can return to training quickly.
The Toffees failed to win a single match post the October international break. This is something they should look to rectify this time.
