Everton could be impacted by new Premier League plans
Everton could be one of the clubs impacted by the Premier League’s new plans to introduce a sponsorship shake-up.
The Times report that after the controversial takeover of Newcastle United, the Premier League could force all sponsorship deals to be pre-agreed by the league’s board.
The Liverpool Echo believe that the Toffees could be impacted because Farhad Moshiri has links with USM Holdings. The firm sponsors Finch Farm and has the first refusal on the new stadium’s naming rights.

So, this new rule could impact the Toffees in the future.
Bad news for Everton.
You can see why the Premier League are planning to introduce new sponsorship rules potentially to stop Saudi companies sponsoring Newcastle [Independent].
However, this could also lead to problems for the Toffees, especially when it comes to naming the Bramley-Moore Dock stadium.
This idea would have to be approved by a majority of PL clubs, so it will be intriguing to see if clubs are willing to sacrifice their current deals just to potentially stop Newcastle.

USM Holdings have a major role at the Toffees already, but if this new rule were to be introduced, then further deals would have to be approved and given Everton’s financial position, that is not something they really need.
Ultimately, it might not be introduced, but if it is, the Toffees could be one of the Premier League teams to suffer, and that is not something that they need.
