Everton remain keen on Porto star Luis Diaz
Everton are still keen on signing FC Porto winger Luis Diaz at some point in 2022.
O’Jogo claim that the Toffees and Newcastle United have their eyes set on the 24-year-old Colombian winger.
However, ex-Porto star Jackson Martinez believes that his 80million Euro [£68.2million] release clause will have to be paid before he leaves Portugal.

He said: “This clause [80 million euros] will be easily paid.
“Díaz is going to be the future James [Rodriguez] or the future [Juan] Cuadrado, and I hope it stays that way.”
Big news for the Toffees.
Now, given Everton’s financial situation, can you really see them coming close to paying this release clause?
It seems beyond unlikely, really, and if Porto do look for the full amount, then the Toffees probably don’t have a chance.
However, if the clubs can agree a fee similar to the one discussed in the summer, Everton might have a better chance of signing Diaz [talkSPORT].

The Colombian has had a superb start to the season, scoring 11 goals and providing two assists in 16 games for Porto. That’s a very good return and the Toffees might end up regretting missing out on him last summer.
He has been described as “excellent” by Juan Cuadrado in the past, and it would be a huge coup if the Toffees could somehow get him to Goodison Park at some point in 2022 [Daily Mail].
However, the fee and the potential competition could become a problem for the Toffees if they do want to sign Diaz.
In other Everton news, one Toffees man is desperate to leave, but the club want a seven-figure fee to let him go.
