Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin says he’s not changing his fashion style anytime soon
Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been out of action for a while due to an injury, but he has remained in the news for non-footballing reasons.
The England international, 24, has a distinct fashion style and sense, regularly providing his Instagram followers with pictures of himself in different attires most of his teammates and colleagues would not dare don.
The Toffees star recently revealed himself on the front cover of The Homme + magazine dressed in a white polka shirt, a black tie, blazer, and flared shorts paired with black loafers and white socks.
Calvert-Lewin is not minding the detractors that have since come his way, though, telling talkSPORT host Jim White he is not going to change anytime soon.
He said: “My style can be deemed a little bit different, but, for me, I do what I do and I am what I am.
“So I will continue to do that and I think, if anything, football has taught me that.
“Football has always been my biggest teacher and it has taught me self-confidence and that you have to believe in yourself at all times.
“So if I want to put on a suit, and not everyone is going to like it, then I am going to continue to do so.”
Strong-willed
Becoming a Premier League star and breaking into England’s star-studded team is definitely not for the fainthearted, and DCL is definitely not going to conform to the norm when it comes to fashion.
He has proven his quality in front of goal and is not shying away from expressing himself off the pitch.
Everton fans saw a different side to him when he appeared on Monday Night Football to preview and review their 2-1 defeat against Wolverhampton Wanderers some weeks ago, and he looked very much at home in the Sky Sports studio.
His punditry and fashion sense are just as impressive as his ability in front of goal, and nobody should have a problem with that.
Rafa Benitez has seen Everton struggle in the absence of the striker and will be hoping he returns to action sooner rather than later.
The Toffees are looking to break into Europe this season, and they need the services of Calvert-Lewin back ASAP to get their campaign back on track.
In other Everton news, the Toffees are plotting January loan-to-buy bid for centre-mid hailed by Jack Grealish last month.
