Simon Jordan: Everton striker Calvert-Lewin has no chance of usurping Harry Kane in England side
Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin has three goals in as many appearances this season, and he has hugely been missed by the club.
The England international, 24, will be looking to return to action before the end of the year and impress for the Toffees going forward in order to retain his place in the national team ahead of the 2022 World Cup.
Calvert-Lewin is in direct competition with Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane for playing minutes for the Three Lions, but Simon Jordan does not see him ousting the skipper anytime soon.

The former Crystal Palace owner said on talkSPORT (as shared on their official Twitter account): “Dominic Calvert-Lewin is a decent player, and you know, doing well, but if you compare and contrast, he’s got 43 goals in 150 games for Everton. Harry Kane has scored 167 in 352 for Tottenham.
“They are poles apart. It’s nice to have him in the squad, but he’s a long, long way from taking Harry Kane’s place. What he does is he speaks with intelligence, he speaks with poise, he’s articulate, he’s eloquent and he does himself and those around him a credit with the way he speaks.”
Poles apart?
Kane, 28, is going through a rough patch right now, with one goal to his name in 10 league games.
It is definitely not an impressive return for someone who bagged 23 goals and weighed in with 14 assists in 35 games last season.
However, claiming he is streets ahead of DCL is debatable given current form.
The Everton ace ended last season with 16 league goals and could have been topping the charts this term had he remained fit.
Rafa Benitez is ruing his unavailability as his side would not have struggled to impress with Calvert-Lewin leading the line.

In the eight games he has missed, Everton have won just twice, drawing twice and losing the remaining four.
They have scored nine games since, but they are in the bottom half of the table at the moment and could do with his goals ahead of the second half of the season.
DCL may not be on the same level as Kane right now, but he has shown that he is capable of giving the Spurs star a run for his money, and he will be looking to start outscoring him going forward.
