Rob Green raves about Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford
Rob Green has showered heaps of praise on Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford who has grown into a consistent performer for his club and country.
The Toffees lost 3-0 against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday where Pickford made some very good saves.
Green has suggested that the “biggest compliment” he can give to Pickford is that he has silenced his critics.

“Jordan Pickford has been much better for Everton over the last 18 months. The biggest compliment you can pay him is that nobody really talks about him. There was a lot of noise surrounding him in an Everton shirt, that has settled down,” said Green on BBC Radio 5 live.
Spot on
In his early days at Everton, Pickford faced a lot of criticism from the fans and pundits for being inconsistent.
While he was very good at what he does best, those early phases were occasionally laden with grave howlers. Many questioned whether he is really good enough to be England’s first-choice keeper.
In the last 18 months or so, Pickford has really settled in for both club and country. He was outstanding during the Euro championships and people are now truly appreciating his performance.

He has been one of the most consistent performers for the Toffees this season. Against City, he made some very good saves, and surely he can’t be blamed for the goals conceded.
It will be interesting to see if Everton can hold on to him as there are recent reports that Tottenham boss Antonio Conte is looking to make a move for him in the summer.
In other Everton news, the Toffees are plotting January loan-to-buy bid for centre-mid hailed by Jack Grealish last month.
