Chris Sutton reacts after Everton fan raises boo-boy fears over Richarlison and Calvert-Lewin
Chris Sutton admits he is on the fence as to whether it is morally right for Everton supporters to boo their team.
Speaking on BBC Radio 5Live’s ‘606’ show [21/11/21] after Everton lost 3-0 at Manchester City on Sunday, Sutton responded after Blues fan Colin rang in to express fears that star duo Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin will leave the club soon.
Colin said: “You think Richarlison and Calvert-Lewin will stay at Everton if there getting boos week in, week out… they won’t will they?”

Sutton replied: “Yeah but the alternative view is there will be fans out there who say ‘we pay our money, we’re entitled to boo if you’re rubbish so I can see both sides of it Rob, can’t you?”
Robbie Savage said: “Yeah, I certainly can.”

Heating up
Pressure is growing on Everton and Rafa Benitez after another disappointing display.
It has to be noted that the Spaniard is still without a host of key first-team stars, including Calvert-Lewin, and Sunday saw them make the trip to the reigning Premier League champions.
But it was still a meek surrender at the Etihad Stadium, a place where Crystal Palace won 2-0 only last month.
There was just one shot on target from the Blues and they barely threatened to even launch an attack, let alone score a goal.
It’s the kind of performance that is sure to annoy Richarlison, for example, who doesn’t want to spend his afternoon chasing shadows.
Whether boos from the Goodison faithful will affect him and Calvert-Lewin is doubtful, though, as players are thick-skinned enough to deal with that.
Everton just need the two back playing together, along with Abdoulaye Doucoure behind them.
