Rafa Benitez comments on Everton January transfer plans
Everton boss Rafael Benitez has hinted that he will look to sign players in the January transfer window.
The Spaniard has suggested that financial constraints could prevent him from signing the players on top of his wish list, but he will try his best to sign players who want to join the club in January.
He has also suggested that Marcel Brands also feels that the squad needs to be bolstered in the winter market.

When asked if he has reached an agreement with Brands on transfer targets, Benitez said as quoted by Liverpool Echo:
“It’s not just an agreement. We have to analyse things every day.
“We have had a conversation about different targets. The fans understand the situation. Because of the last years and the Premier League rules we cannot sign what we want. We can sign what we can and that is what we will try to do.
“We will try to make sure we have the best options and do the best possible.
“The main agreement is that we know we have to bring in someone else to change the competition between the players and improve the squad.”
Necessary
Everton operated on a tight budget in the summer transfer window, with Benitez spending less than £2million to add new players.
The Toffees could face another similar situation in January, but Benitez is hopeful that he can still make some good additions.

To be fair, it’s not easy to sign top players in January, but the club must try to bring in talents who will add depth and quality to the side.
Everton are without a win in their last six games and the pressure is mounting on Benitez.
However, the fans are also aware that the squad has been ravaged with injuries and the Spaniard’s options are limited.
He needs to be given proper backing in January, otherwise, it would be so unfair on him.
Signing a back-up striker is necessary, while the club should look to add a right-back, a central midfielder and a quality attacking midfielder.
The Toffees will face Brentford in the Premier League clash on Sunday.
