Don Goodman suggests why Everton striker Salomon Rondon has struggled
Sky Sports pundit Don Goodman has suggested that Everton striker Salomon Rondon has struggled because of his fitness.
The Toffees will face Brentford away in the Premier League today, and Rondon has been named to start with Rafa Benitez missing the services of both Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Goodman has suggested that Rondon is lacking match sharpness, but he is a “powerhouse” in the air.

“Fitness, sharpness. He came into the club when he wasn’t fit,” said Goodman to Sky Sports Super Sunday.
“I don’t think he can have that excuse in general terms. He hasn’t played the minutes.
“The match-sharpness might be an issue but he is a powerhouse in the air.”
Big chance
Rondon has been very disappointing this season.
The 32-year-old, who joined on a free transfer, has made eight appearances this season and he is yet to open his account.
His overall contribution has been below par, but he will probably get a chance to resurrect his Everton career against Brentford.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is still absent with injury, while Richarlison is suspended after the Brazilian picked his fifth yellow card against Manchester City last week.
Rondon is leading the line for the Toffees, and this is the perfect opportunity for him to prove a point to his manager that he has still plenty to offer.
He has loads of Premier League experience and there’s no reason to believe why he can’t be a potent weapon.
Having started in five games already, the match-sharpness is probably not an issue now. He is strong in the air, and is a good finisher.
Everton are struggling horribly in the league, and they need to bounce back to winning ways at the earliest.
