Brentford fans and Thomas Frank fumed that Everton played on with player down
Everton suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Brentford on Sunday, and they left Thomas Frank and the home fans fuming during the game.
The Toffees continued with play while Bees player Rico Henry was down, and according to The Athletic journalist Patrick Boyland, it made their manager and supporters seethe.
Henry was taken out by his own teammate, and given that the knock was not a head injury, Everton did not see the need to put the ball out of play.

Boyland posted about the reaction of the Brentford boss and supporters on his personal Twitter account.
He said: “Everton play on while Henry down. Home fans and Thomas Frank going mental.”
Once bitten
Everton midfielder Allan kicked the ball out of play while his side were in possession with Bernardo Silva down during last weekend’s clash against Manchester City, and his attempt at fair play ended up costing the team as the Portuguese sprang back to his feet and helped his side grab a goal seconds later.
The Toffees learnt from that and were never going to repeat that mistake again a week later.
Lucas Digne had to be brought down for play to stop, and while Brentford are right to be angry, the Blues did not break any rules and were only being cautious after what happened against Man City.
Everton did not see the situation as an advantage, but they simply were not in the mood to kick the ball out as they were not obligated to.
Whether they would have been fuming if the roles were reversed remains to be seen, but they cannot be blamed for continuing the game.

Fortunately for Brentford, the Toffees did not score from it as that would have sparked a melee and heated debates among pundits for the rest of the week.
Having gone seven league games without a win, losing five, Everton are desperate to get points on board, and they can be forgiven for ignoring fair play against the Bees.
In other Everton news, the Toffees are plotting January loan-to-buy bid for centre-mid hailed by Jack Grealish last month.
