Patrick Boyland shares Everton fans chant on train after Brentford defeat

Patrick Boyland has praised Everton fans who were on his train from London to Liverpool after the defeat to Brentford.

The Toffees travelled down in big numbers to watch their side lose 1-0 to the Bees.

However, that didn’t stop them non-stop singing and chanting on the train back from a disappointing away day.

It is clear that The Athletic reporter was impressed by what he had seen from the Toffees supporters.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, he said: “Fair play to the fans on my train who sang Everton songs all the way back home to Liverpool. Some commitment.”

Fantastic commitment from the Toffees.

That is now five away games without a win for Everton, but they are still travelling in big numbers and supporting the team.

It is just a shame that the team can’t seem to replicate this passion on the pitch, and they are really struggling.

Some fans who were there in west London booed the players when they came over to clap the supporters, but you can’t blame these fans.

They spend their hard-earned money to travel around the country to watch their team, and they expect to see the players at least grafting for the shirt.

On Sunday, the Toffees lost a lot of second balls to an aggressive and well-drilled Brentford side, and you could argue that is all many Evertonians want to see from their side as well.

The upcoming fixtures don’t get any easier, and you would think Rafael Benitez is going to need to pull a rabbit out of the hat, or his short reign at Goodison could be over.
