Stan Collymore shares video clip as Everton lose v Brentford
Everton lost 1-0 against Brentford in West London in the Premier League on Sunday.
Stan Collymore has shared a video clip on Twitter where a section of the travelling fans could be seen reacting furiously to the players after the game.
Collymore wrote on Twitter: “It’s fair to say that the [Merseyside] Derby on Wednesday is going to be very, very interesting now.”
Tough run of fixtures
It was an abject performance from Everton, and there’s very little to be positive about.
The 3-0 defeat against Manchester City can be excused, given the quality of the opponent, but this defeat is gut-wrenching.
The Toffees have now failed to win in their last seven games, losing five of them. And it is hard to see where the next win will come from.
The Spaniard has suggested that the players have given everything on the pitch, but if that’s the case, then it is a worrying sign, as there was a real shortage of quality.
Everton will face Liverpool next on Wednesday in the Premier League followed by successive games against in-form London teams – Arsenal, Crystal Palace and Chelsea. Then they face Leicester City.
Benitez wasn’t a popular choice among the fans, and the atmosphere could get hostile at Goodison Pak if they lose badly against Liverpool.
Of course, fans understand that the Toffees are missing some key players, but the results and the performance to go with it are totally unacceptable.
