Louis Saha urges Everton to make move for FC Porto attacker Luis Diaz
Everton have been urged by former striker Louis Saha to make a move for FC Porto attacker Luis Diaz.
According to Sky Sports, Everton were in talks to sign Diaz this summer and even planned to include James Rodriguez as part of the deal.
That move did not pan out and the 24-year-old ended up staying put in Portugal.

However, Saha does not want his former side being dissuaded by a failed summer pursuit and believes that he will benefit Rafa Benitez’s side a great deal.
Discussing the possibility of the Colombia international move to Goodison Park, Saha told 101 Great Goals, “Everton is a great family club, I felt welcome, I felt like they wanted to win trophies. They’ve got a great squad and he will improve as a player by joining them.
“He will feel enough under pressure as Everton have high standards, they want to see a commitment from their players and team spirit.
“As a player who has so much quality, like Richarlison, he’ll do well there. I’d recommend any player to go to England and experience Goodison Park, it’s unbelievable.”
There is plenty to be excited about links to Diaz and with James off the wage bill, the club may have some room to attract a player of his calibre.
South American expert Tim Vickery waxed lyrical about him live on Sky Sports News on August 27, as shown on Football Daily’s Twitter account.
He said: “He had a fantastic Copa America. He scored four goals, and each of them was better than the last. They were sensational goals.”
Even this season, he has enjoyed a phenomenal start for the Portuguese side and has played a huge role in guiding them to second place with a game in hand.

He’s bagged nine goals in 11 appearances and has provided a couple of assists as well.
A player who either guarantees a goal or an assist in every game is something that Everton are crying out for, given their lack of goals of late.
It will be rational to listen to Saha and bring the Colombian to Goodison Park this January.
