Rafa Benitez wants Everton fans to back team ahead of Liverpool clash
Rafa Benitez has urged Everton fans to back their team ahead of their Premier League clash on Wednesday.
The Toffees will face derby rivals Liverpool at Goodison Park tomorrow (1st December) and Benitez feels that an electric atmosphere can make a big difference.
Everton fans vented their frustration last week after the Toffees lost 1-0 against Brentford.

“The fans are intelligent and know we need them,” said Benitez to Evertonfc.com.
“They will realise how important they are for the players. It is a derby and I am sure they will be behind the team.”
Horrible scenario
Ahead of the 239thMerseyside derby, Everton find themselves in 14th place, just six points off the drop zone.
Benitez’s side hasn’t won in their last seven games. It will be a very difficult game, considering the Reds are in fantastic form at the moment. But derby games are something else.
The Spaniard will face his former club tomorrow, and his record against them is poor. He has failed to win in his last six games against the Reds.

Everton will be boosted by the return of Andre Gomes to full training but Dominic Calvert-Lewin is still absent.
This barren run of form is very frustrating. While the fans do understand that Everton have been missing a host of key players in recent games, and that the squad isn’t strong enough as well, it is still the manager’s job to get the best out of the players he has got.
Benitez said that Everton players gave it their all on the pitch in their last game, but surely it will need a herculean effort to beat Jurgen Klopp’s side.
