Marcel Brands responded to angry Everton fan after 4-1 defeat v Liverpool

Everton fans have expressed their anger towards the board after suffering a humiliating 4-1 Premier League defeat against Liverpool at Goodison Park on Wednesday.

Marcel Brands was involved in a heated exchange with an Everton supporter following the Merseyside derby defeat.

One fan sat close to the Everton board and launched a verbal attack on the club’s director of football.

“Get out of this club” – he shouted to the Dutchman, before adding – “did you recruit them?”

Brands stopped and replied – “Is it only the players?”

The Everton fan fired back saying “it’s everyone”.

Unacceptable

After the home side conceded their second goal within 20 minutes, a section of fans were seen leaving the stadium.

Demarai Gray pulled one back and offered some hope of a comeback at the break, but further goals from Mohamed Salah and Diogo Jota killed the competition.

Everton fans vented their frustration in the 1-0 defeat against Brentford, but a humiliating derby defeat sparked outrage, and rightly so.

The Toffees are now without a win in their last eight games in the Premier League, and fans fear that the club is heading in the wrong direction.

Everton will face Arsenal, Crystal Palace and Chelsea in their next three games, and unless the results improve, Benitez could struggle to keep hold of his job.

The Toffees need reinforcement in the January transfer window, but they first need to fix the spiral freefall and arrest the decline at the earliest.

In other Everton news, the Toffees are plotting January loan-to-buy bid for centre-mid hailed by Jack Grealish last month.
