Jim White: Farhad Moshiri will be at Everton clash v Arsenal amid planned protests

Farhad Moshiri will be at Goodison Park tonight (6 December) to watch Everton host Arsenal, according to Jim White.

The Gunners make the trip to face a beleaguered Blues side on Monday night with the Merseyside outfit without a win in their last eight games.

The departure of director of football Marcel Brands was confirmed on Sunday night (5 December) and a 27th-minute walkout is planned against Arsenal in protest at the running of the club.

Everton owner Moshiri isn’t going to be hiding away, however.

“It’s my understanding the owner Farhad Moshiri intends to be at Goodison for the match tonight,” White said via talkSPORT on Monday morning (6 December).

Well, at least Moshiri can’t be accused of hiding away when the going gets tough.

That’s about as much praise that can be served his way after years of inadequate dealings at boardroom level have come back to bite him in recent weeks.

After a positive start to the 2021/22 campaign under Rafa Benitez Everton have imploded, on and off the pitch.

The future of Benitez has come under question while Brands has paid the price for failing to deliver a competitive squad that can challenge for the European spots.

Last Wednesday’s (1 December) 4-1 defeat at the hands of local rivals Liverpool was the final straw for many supporters who vociferously voiced their disapproval of the Blues board.

Now, they are set to vote with their feet and walk out during the 27th minute against the Gunners tonight.

The cameras will surely be quick to pan to Moshiri once that happens.

In other Everton news, a European club have tabled a bid for this big-money Blues player with further talks set for this week.
