Simon Jordan blames Farhad Moshiri for Goodison Park no-show in Everton 2-1 win v Arsenal
Simon Jordan suggests Everton owner Farhad Moshiri only has himself to blame for missing Monday’s (6 December) 2-1 win over Arsenal at Goodison Park.
Moshiri was said to be targeting an appearance at Goodison but quarantine rules scuppered his plans.
“If he can’t be there, he can’t be there, because technically if you’re flying in from a country you’ve got to have a 48-hour situation before you can get a two-day test and release,” ex-Crystal Palace owner Jordan said on talkSPORT (7 December).

“But he knew the game was on Monday so maybe he should have flown on Saturday, and then he would have been there.
“But what would have been the point of him being there, to some extent, because you know what he was going to get, a section of the fanbase having a go at him.”

All talk?
Moshiri’s foresight can certianly be questioned in this case.
Surely he would have been aware of the quarantine rules and what was expected of him before being allowed to be present at Goodison on Monday night.
He was in the US on business before jetting back into England, and there was actually some surprise that he was set on being at Goodison anyway, considering the mood around the Blues half of Merseyside at the moment.
After a run of eight games without victory, the pressure was cranking up to the maximum.
The exit of Marcel Brands and Everton’s win over Arsenal may relieve that ever so slightly, but it will be piled back on if they do not follow it up with more positive results in December.
It will be interesting to see the reaction to Moshiri once he does get back into the stadium.
