Everton contact Aaron Ramsey’s agent about free January transfer

Everton are in contact with the agent of Juventus attacker Aaron Ramsey ahead of a January deal, according to Calciomercato.

The Old Lady are ready to terminate the contract of the Wales international, 30, as he is no longer in the plans of manager Max Allegri, and the Toffees are looking to pounce in order to bring him back to the Premier League next month.

Everton and Ramsey are still not close to agreeing to the terms of a deal, but Juve want to help by ensuring he leaves for free when the winter transfer window opens, and that is expected to help get the deal over the line.

Great move?

The Toffees will jump at a chance to sign a quality player for nothing right now, but whether they can meet his demands remains to be seen.

The former Arsenal star earns around £6million a year at the Serie A outfit, and he could want something similar and a signing-on fee to join another club.

Ramsey has only featured in five games across all competitions this term, but he has continued to deliver for country despite his Juventus struggles, with three goals in four World Cup qualifying games.

He scored and assisted regularly for the Gunners during his time in England, memorably grabbing his first career hat-trick in a 5-1 win over Everton at the Emirates in February 2018.
