Everton fans set to be impacted by new Covid laws

Everton fans are set to be impacted by the government’s new Covid laws.

Boris Johnson announced on Wednesday evening that Covid passports would be compulsory for all sporting events with over 10,000 in attendance.

The Liverpool Echo have relayed the news that was announced in a press conference, and it seems as if Toffees fans are going to have to prove that they have had at least two Covid jabs to be allowed into games up and down the country.

This could stop some Toffees fans from attending any matches until they have at least two jabs.

Bad news for Evertonians.

Although most Evertonians have probably been vaccinated at least twice, this could stop some Toffees fans from being able to attend.

Now, this could be a crushing blow because, for many, that trip to the football either at Goodison Park or away from home is the only social interaction they get.

Therefore, we do worry about a small number of Toffees supporters who might now be forced into getting a jab even if they don’t want one.

If someone hasn’t had at least two Covid jabs by now, you would think that they have a valid reason.

Therefore, forcing fans into getting vaccinated to be able to attend a match is harsh, to say the least.

However, given the way this government has treated football fans since the first lockdown was announced, we aren’t surprised by this latest blow.

We will have to see what happens next, but hopefully, stadiums are allowed to remain at full capacity.
