Newcastle United want to sign Everton star Yerry Mina as £17.1m January exit fee emerges
Newcastle United want to sign Everton defender Yerry Mina in January, according to French news outlet Jeunes Footeux.
Mina, 27, is well-received among Everton fans but his injury issues have seen him play just seven times in the Premier League this season.
He was taken off injured within the first 30 minutes of Monday’s (6 December) 2-1 win over Arsenal after missing their previous seven fixtures.

Now, Jeunes Footeux claim he can leave Everton for £17.1million in January, with Newcastle unperturbed by this fee.
However, they are not alone in their pursuit of the Colombia international, with Italian giants AC Milan also interested.
Take the money?
Everton may have to take a difficult decision over Mina.
He’s popular among the Goodison faithful with many viewing him as the club’s best centre-back.
Indeed, they have lost just once in the seven games he has appeared in this season.
Without him, the Blues have lost seven out of 10.

The statistics are ominous, but so are the number of games he has missed.
With his contract expiring in 2023, the next window represents the best chance to land a sizeable fee for him.
As long as it is reinvested in another top-quality central defender, one with an impeccable injury record, then it could be a sensible deal.
However, hopes won’t be high after the club’s recent patch record in the transfer market.
Michael Keane, Ben Godfrey and Mason Holgate are the other senior options still at the club, with Jarrad Branthwaite a younger alternative, but better defenders are required to lift the Blues.
In other Everton news, another sale is on the cards as a Champions League-winning boss wants to sign this Blues star.
