Jarrad Branthwaite pens new deal at Everton

Everton have confirmed today that exciting young defender Jarrad Branthwaite has penned a new deal at the club.

The 19-year-old will remain at the club till June 2025, with the Toffees having an option of extending it for a further year.

The youngster has been a regular in Rafa Benitez’s squad this season, and he feels it’s a massive honour to commit his future at the club.

The youngster has revealed that Benitez has been playing a massive role in his development.

“I am buzzing to get the deal done and commit my future to the Club,” said the youngster to the club’s official website.

“The way Everton have treated me and the pathway I can see are why I was eager to stay longer. Playing for Everton’s First Team is a massive honour. I want more so I have to prove I am good enough to be there and keep progressing.

“My main objective is to play as many games as possible and help the team. The manager is very good with me.”

Bright future

At the moment, he should be focussing on getting as many games as he can and making the best use of them.

He has already made his Premier League debut last year. He started in the Carabao Cup win against Huddersfield Town in August and further managed four league outings last season.

What has been pleasing about him is that he is progressing at a terrific pace. Carlo Ancelotti hailed him as a “fantastic” player following his tremendous display in a draw with Aston Villa in the Premier League last season.

Branthwaite spent the second half of last season on loan with Blackburn Rovers.

He played 10 times in the Championship – including nine straight games directly after arriving – but an ankle injury curtailed his contribution.

Benitez always has a penchant for giving chances to young talents, and handing him a new deal suggests how highly the club rate him.
