ITV’s Sam Matterface: Bill Kenwright pushing Duncan Ferguson for Everton manager
ITV commentator Sam Matterface is adamant Duncan Ferguson will eventually make the step up as Everton manager.
Appearing via talkSPORT on Thursday morning (16 December) to discuss Everton’s current troubles, Matterface said: “Duncan Ferguson is in the thoughts of the ownership if there is a change of manager, certainly there is a split on the board and some of those, including Bill Kenwright, would like to see Duncan get the job eventually.
“He’s going to make the step up, I’m sure it’s going to be the next time.”

Bill and the Old Blues
It was widely reported during Everton’s summer hunt for a new manager that Kenwright was pushing for West Ham boss David Moyes to return to Goodison Park.
Kenwright was said to be vehemently against the appointment of Benitez due to his past links to Liverpool.
Evidently, Kenwright is someone desperate to keep the ‘traditions’ of Everton and ensure there are always ‘Blues’ within the ranks.
However, it’s becoming increasingly thought among fans that the club need to break free from this complex and overhaul everything.
Therefore, would fan be in favour of Ferguson being promoted to the role of manager?

Of course, there will be staunch supporters who idolise Ferguson and dream of the Scot in charge at Goodison.
But, in reality, would he be the best choice, if and when Benitez leaves?
There’s little evidence to suggest he is.
Ferguson would have the supporters instantly behind him, but there’s only so long that can last if results do not follow.
In other Everton news, the Blues have reportedly made a major signing this week with an announcement imminent.
