Tony Bellew reacts as Wayne Rooney and Duncan Ferguson linked to Everton job
Tony Bellew is adamant Everton need to stop the hiring and firing of managers in order to stabilise the club.
Speaking via talkSPORT on Thursday morning (16 December), the former WBC cruiserweight champion and famous Blues fan spoke to Alan Brazil about the current troubles at Goodison Park.
Brazil asked: “Are you calling for Rafa’s head, maybe Big Dunc [Duncan Ferguson] with Wayne Rooney?”

Bellew replied: “You can’t keep sacking managers, you can’t do it. Duncan’s time has got to come at some stage in my opinion, but you can’t keep sacking managers, I just don’t believe in that.
“Wazza’s always going to be a massive part of our club and the history of our club, I love the lad, he’s my friend, so of course I love him to bits.
“As for Duncan, he’s my friend as well.
“But we can’t keep on sacking managers, the names we’ve gone through…when is enough, enough? At some stage, the buck’s got to stop with the lads.”

Continuity
Bellew probably speaks for a lot of Evertonians when he says he’s fed up with constant change at the club.
The likes of Marco Silva, Ronald Koeman and Carlo Ancelotti, among others, have all passed through Goodison during Farhad Moshiri’s tenure as Everton owner, with little to show for their endeavours.
There has been no sense of stability at Goodison and, naturally, that affects everyone at all levels, right from the players to the supporters.
Now, Everton have a highly experienced manager in Rafa Benitez at the helm but exit talk has already begun after a run of just one win in 10 games as the Blues sit perilously close to the Premier League relegation zone.
Injuries have crippled the side this season and Benitez will be desperate to prove his worth once he gets a number of stars back.
But will Moshiri wait to find that out? History suggests not.
In other Everton news, the Blues have reportedly made a major signing this week with an announcement imminent.
