Everton vs Leicester postponed after positive COVID-19 cases
Everton will not face Leicester this weekend after their Premier League fixture was postponed after more positive COVID-19 cases.
The Toffees have seen a fixture postponed for the first time this season ahead of the visit from the Foxes, who will now be three Premier League games behind schedule.
The postponement of the game sees five separate fixtures now not taking place this weekend, meaning calls for a pause to league action will only grow.

The Premier League released a statement on Thursday night confirming that all of Manchester United vs Brighton, Southampton vs Brentford, Watford vs Crystal Palace, West Ham vs Norwich and Everton vs Leicester would not be taking place.
In their statement, they revealed that Leicester currently don’t have enough first-team players available to field a team.
“Leicester City have a COVID-19 outbreak within the squad which has left the club with an insufficient number of players available to fulfil the match. The club’s first-team training ground was closed this morning to help contain the outbreak.”

Good timing
Everton are currently going through an injury crisis, so this break in action could turn out to be a bit of a positive thing for them.
Their fixture against Chelsea still goes ahead, but they have named a very depleted side owing to injuries to the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Richarlison, Andros Townsend, Allan, Seamus Coleman and Lucas Digne.
The postponement could allow them a chance to get some of those player fit again and if they can avoid testing positive then it would likely allow them to be available for the Toffees’ next fixture.
The club’s next scheduled game is against Burnley on Boxing Day, before a home game with Newcastle on December 30th to close out the year.
