Crystal Palace interested in January move for Everton left-back Lucas Digne

Crystal Palace are interested in signing Everton left-back Lucas Digne in January, according to French outlet Jeunes Footeux.

The France international, 28, could leave Goodison Park in January in order to get more playing time after falling out with Rafa Benitez.

The Spaniard has excluded Digne from his last two matchday squads following a disagreement, and it is believed both parties will look to go their separate ways during the winter transfer window next month.

Good deal?

Everton are also looking out for a replacement for the Frenchman, and it appears he has already played his last game for the club.

Palace manager Patrick Vieira would love to strengthen his squad next month after hitting the ground running upon taking the job in the summer of 2021, and the Toffees could be keen to play for him.

Digne would fetch Everton a decent fee given his quality, and they could do with it right now given their Financial Fair Play woes.

The player knows he needs to continue playing regularly ahead of next year’s World Cup, and that chance should be available at Selhurst Park or elsewhere.

Benitez’s style of play has stifled Digne’s attacking qualities, and it is best if both player and manager part ways.

Ben Godfrey has played at left-back in the last three games, and he has done pretty well.

Everton will be looking to bring in a natural left-back, with Vitaliy Mykolenko strongly linked, and Benitez will be hoping the Dynamo Kyiv ace, 22, has what he wants in a full-back.

In other Everton news, the Toffees are plotting January loan-to-buy bid for centre-mid hailed by Jack Grealish last month.
