Dominic Calvert-Lewin reveals expected return date from injury
Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin has revealed that he is hopeful of making a return to playing action on Boxing Day.
The England international started the season on fire with three goals in the opening three games of the Premier League season, before a quadriceps injury ruled him out for an extended period.
But with Everton in desperate need of senior players to return and perform to help them out of their rut of poor form, they’ve been given a huge boost by their star man.

While speaking on a video call with an ill fan and his father, Calvert-Lewin revealed he expects to return to action on Boxing Day if all goes to plan.
“I’ll hopefully back training with the team next week and hopefully play Boxing Day,” he said.
“I think so [the longest he’s been out], I’ve never really suffered with muscle injuries. I did a bit as a kid but it’s the first time my body has really let me down.
“It’s difficult because footy is my purpose. It’s been difficult at times. To get so close to coming back and get injured again, that’s why it’s been so difficult this time around.”

Huge boost
The return of Calvert-Lewin can only be described as a huge boost to the Toffees considering the position they’ve been in recently.
Rafa Benitez’s side have only won one of their last ten Premier League games, losing seven of them.
The presence alone of Calvert-Lewin is enough to create space for other attackers in the Everton team, which will in turn produce goals that they seriously need to improve their form.
It’ll also be a boost for England ahead of the March internationals, but Everton will just be happy to get their talisman back healthy again.
