Inter Milan see Everton ace Lucas Digne as investment for future

Inter Milan want to sign Everton left-back Lucas Digne on loan in January, according to Italian outlet Gazzetta Dello Sport.

The Serie A defending champions do not have the cash to splash on the France international, 28, next month, but they reckon he would be keen to join them after falling out with Rafa Benitez.

Inter see Digne as an ‘investment for the future’, and are convinced that he has the quality to improve the left side of Simeone Inzaghi’s team, but whether the Toffees would be open to letting him leave on a temporary basis remains to be seen.

Good deal?

Everton could do with some cash when the winter transfer window opens in order to balance the books, and the only way Inter can get a deal done is if they include an option-to-buy that must be activated in it.

Digne’s time on Merseyside has all but come to an end from the look of things, with Ukrainian left-back Vitaliy Mykolenko set to join from Dynamo Kyiv.

The Frenchman would also be open to leaving too, and linking up with the current Serie A league leaders would be very tempting.

The Blues ace will be moving from a club that have struggled to qualify for Europe since he joined from Barcelona to one that could retain the title and play in the Champions League in 2022-23.

Everton

It is a no brainer, but Everton will have to approve, and they could be open to doing business with a suitor ready to part with cash immediately instead.

Digne is not short of options, with clubs in and out of the Premier League already linked, and while the ball will likely be in his court regarding his next employers, the Goodison Park outfit would want a deal that benefits them too.
