Vitaliy Mykolenko set to earn wages of £58k-a-week at Everton

Incoming Everton player Vitaliy Mykolenko is set to earn wages in the region of £58k-a-week at Goodison Park, according to Dynamo Kyiv Inside.

The Ukraine international is only days away from completing his switch to Merseyside.

The fee is understood to be £20million, which has been confirmed by this source as well as The Athletic.

He is set to become the 13th or 14th biggest earner at the club.

Good economics

Mykolenko is surely a welcome signing but it was important that Everton did not overpay for him.

He is still not established in his career and there is a tendency for agents to demand higher salaries from English clubs.

Given the Toffees’ left-back situation and Rafa Benitez’s falling out with Lucas Digne, Mykolenko’s representatives could have held the club to ransom.

However, it’s good that Everton held firm and did not offer too lucrative a deal to the Ukrainian.

Of course, should his performances merit it, then he surely would become one of the club’s highest earners by then.

Until then, he needs to keep his feet on the ground and focus on improving as quickly as he can to establish himself as a first-team regular.

The transfer should go through soon and we’re hoping that he will be available as soon as the window opens.
