Inter Milan plot swap deal offer to sign Everton defender Lucas Digne

Italian champions Inter Milan are keen to bolster their left-back areas, and they have earmarked Everton defender Lucas Digne as an option, according to SportMediaset.

The Frenchman is facing an uncertain future at Goodison Park, after falling out of favour of Rafa Benitez.

The report claims that the Nerazzurri want to sign Digne on loan with an option to buy him permanently next summer. However, that didn’t appeal to the Toffees.

They are now willing to include Matias Vecino as a part of the deal. Vecino is a player admired by Rafa Benitez with the midfielder’s contract set to expire in the summer.

No way.

Everton must not encourage any such moves as it doesn’t make any sense.

There won’t be a shortage of Premier League clubs who would want him in their side, and Everton should wait for the right deal.

Inter are only interested in ‘dry loan’ which means they are not ready to commit to signing the Frenchman permanently, should Vecino be added to the deal.

Everton

The 28-year-old defender has managed 13 Premier League appearances this season. He last featured in the 4-1 Merseyside derby defeat against Liverpool.

Everton have already signed Ukraine left-back Vitaliy Mykolenko this month and Digne is expected to be sold in January.

Ideally, the Toffees would want to offload him to another foreign club, but they shouldn’t agree to such meaningless loan deals, especially at a time when the club needs funds desperately.

The message should be loud and clear – pay the money and take him.
