Nathan Patterson reacts on Twitter after completing Everton move

Nathan Patterson has completed his move to Everton today from Rangers, which he says was an “easy choice” for him.

The 20-year-old has penned a long-term deal that will keep him at Goodison Park till the summer of 2027.

The highly-rated right-back has taken to Twitter to share his first message for the Everton fans.

Patterson wrote on his personal Twitter account: “New home. Can’t wait to get started.”

Superb signing

The right-back has been an area that has been neglected for a long time.

Seamus Coleman, the club skipper, is the first-choice for the club. Without a solid back-up option, the Toffees have put too much strain on the 33-year-old.

The Merseyside are long-term admirers of Patterson. They failed in their attempt to sign him during the summer, with their offers deemed not good enough.

Eventually, they have got their target, and have paid around £12m to secure his signature.

The youngster has struggled for regular games at Rangers, but that is cause James Tavernier, the club skipper, plays in his position.

He is a fantastic talent and has already made six appearances for the Scotland national team.

Patterson has become the second major signing of the summer following the arrival of Vitaliy Mykolenko from Dynamo Kyiv.

The new signings could push Lucas Digne to the exit door, although the Toffees are unlikely to accept any loan deal for him.

In other Everton news, Toffees should move to solve goal problem with ‘unplayable’ striker in three-way race for his signature.
