Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri has confirmed today (5 January 2022) that Ramsey will leave the club, describing the Wales midfielder as an “outgoing player”.

Allegri said, as quoted by BBC Sport: “Aaron Ramsey returned today after his leave to work in England, but he is an outgoing player.”

The news should be seen as a huge boost for Everton, although they might have started discussions for him long ago.

The three-time FA Cup winner failed to replicate the form he showed at Arsenal, managing 70 appearances in all competitions for The Old Lady, scoring six goals.

Everton are lacking depth in the midfield areas and Ramsey would be a massive signing for the club.

He is a box-to-box midfielder and would be hungry to prove a point after a not-so-memorable European adventure.

Ramsey is a creative playmaker who would bring energy and quality in the middle, and Everton now have a glorious opportunity to sign him up.

Of course, there will be strong competition for him, and it’s up to Everton now to come with a deal that suits all parties involved.

In other Everton news, Rafael Benitez has been handed a big injury boost with a “world-class” player close to a return.
