Man of the Moment Anthony Gordon reveals conversation with Everton pitch invader

Homegrown Everton star Anthony Gordon has revealed what the pitch invader who disrupted their 4-1 defeat against Liverpool said to him.

Toffees fans have been disgruntled with their team’s performances so far this season with the club near the bottom of the Premier League.

Gordon acknowledged their poor season in an interview with Chris Beesley at the Liverpool Echo which covered a range of topics.

“It was sort of just him expressing his frustrations. I didn’t just want to walk away and leave him because the fans are the club,” Gordon said in the Liverpool Echo.

“I wanted to listen to what he had to say. His frustration and everyone else’s frustration, it’s understandable.

“He was really polite. On the picture, it looked really confrontational but it wasn’t.

“It was just more him asking questions and expressing his frustrations.”

A bright star on the dark sky

Everton fans have had little to smile about this season with injuries and falling outs disrupting their Premier League campaign.

Gordon though has played with his heart on his sleeve and a grit and determination that has seen the Goodison Park faithful warm to one of their own.

His attitude and effort is something many of the Everton squad could learn a lot from as his love for the club he has been with his whole career shine brighter than any other player.

The 20-year-old said it was “incredible” to see him receive individual applause from the Gwladys Street End of the ground after scoring a brace against Brighton in a game the team ultimately lost.

And Gordon makes a special effort after every home game to applaud the forever-faithful supporters after every game and even did so after the 4-1 Merseyside derby defeat.

You could argue that Gordon’s passion for the club should see him become a team leader in the dressing room as fans would’ve to see an academy graduate captain the first team at Goodison Park.

In other Everton news, Lucas Digne is now attracting interest from this ‘super-rich club.
