PSG keen to swap Mauro Icardi for Everton striker Moise Kean

Paris Saint-Germain are keen on a swap deal that will see them land Everton striker Moise Kean in exchange for Mauro Icardi, according to French outlet Le Parisien.

The Italy international striker is currently on loan at Juventus, and with the Serie A outfit unable to meet the French giants’ demands for the Argentine, PSG want their former loanee in a potential deal.

However, having already played for both the Toffees and the Italians so far in 2021-22, Kean, 21, could find it impossible to complete a move to Parc des Princes in January due to FIFA regulations.

PSG would need to overcome the rules on players playing for more than two clubs in a single season, making a deal unlikely with FIFA not likely to budge.

Blow?

Everton loaned Kean back to Turin for two seasons, with an option to buy included in the deal, and they really would not be concerned about his future right now.

However, given how the player fared at PSG on loan in 2020-21, there is no doubt that he would be keen to return in order to play with the likes of Lionel Messi.

That has to wait until the summer from the look of things, though, and he could be rueing his decision to feature for the Toffees earlier this season before leaving for his home country.

FIFA are not likely to allow him to represent a third club this season as no one has managed to escape the red tape since the rule was put in place.

Given their injury concerns so far this term, Everton could do with Kean back, and he would have had enough chances to impress after Dominic Calvert-Lewin picked up a long-term blow earlier in the campaign.

He has since scored four goals in 18 games for Juventus this season, and given that he only played twice for the Goodison Park outfit – including one minute of Premier League action – the FIFA rules come as a massive blow.
