Darren Bent backs Everton to avoid relegation but ‘fans might not like it’
Everton have endured a poor season so far but TalkSPORT’s Darren Bent believes the Toffees will stay in the Premier League.
Rafael Benitez’s side are currently 15th in the league with things far from safe behind them after a horrid run of form.
But with players returning from injury and reinforcements being signed from elsewhere, Bent believes they will be safe from a relegation scrap.

“They have had big injuries to big players at the wrong time,” Bent said on TalkSPORT’s Drivetime show.
“They’re not going down, Rafa will find a way to pick up points and the fans might not like it but there are worse teams than them.”
Time to sacrifice attractive football
Every football fan wants to see their team play like prime Brazil with quick passing and free-flowing attacking football.
For Everton though, they just need to win games right now and that might not be the best way to go about it.

Bent makes a good point when he says “Rafa will find a way and the fans might not like it” because the chances are exactly that will happen.
Everything that has happened to Benitez in his lengthy managerial career suggests he will achieve his targets one way or another but to do so at Goodison Park, he may have to try something different.
A more direct and defensively-solid style of play could need to be implemented to stop the flood of goals going in against them and they have the personnel to make that ideology effective.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Salomon Rondon are both capable target forwards who can hold up a long ball better than most in the Premier League.
The signings of Vitaliy Mykolenko and Nathan Patterson strengthen the full-back positions which have been a weakness all season and everything points towards the club picking up form soon and pulling away from the drop zone.
