George Honeyman drools over Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford
Hull City midfielder George Honeyman said he is “super jealous” of Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.
Everton will face Hull City in the third round FA Cup clash and Honeyman has revealed he has been texting Pickford to find out whether the England goalkeeper will be playing today.
They were once youth teammates at Sunderland, but their careers have taken different routes. However, they have both remained as “good friends”.

“It’s a little bit surreal because watching England, they seem so far out of reach, superstars, so to see one of my mates in goal in the semi-final of the World Cup was unbelievable,” said Honeyman, as quoted by Yorkshire Post.
“I’ve got a lot of role models from my time at Sunderland’s academy but he’s the one closest to me in terms of age and friendship.
“I’m super-jealous of him playing in the Premier League and for England, he’s living every lad’s dream. He’s absolutely earned the right with his desire, his talent. The way he’s delivered at the highest level is second to none.”
Top-quality
Pickford has been outstanding this season for the Toffees.
It’s a different story that Everton are struggling badly in the league, and Pickford can’t keep a clean sheet at the moment.
But, that’s not his fault though. He has been superb throughout and has rightly kept his place as the country’s first-choice goalkeeper.
The bedraggled Everton defence ahead of Pickford hardly exude confidence and make his job easy, and it must be really frustrating for the England goalie.

He has been an epitome of consistency and has come a long way since his big-money move from Sunderland.
Honeyman, on the other hand, had to endure two Championship relegations and has worked his way back up the ladder.
Rafa Benitez could make some changes to the starting line-up giving chance to the youngster, but Pickford is likely to continue.
On paper, Everton are favourites to win this one, but cup games can throw unknown challenges.
