Yannick Bolasie reacts as Everton ace Digne is linked with Aston Villa

Yannick Bolasie has taken to his personal Twitter account to react on Sunday after Everton left-back Lucas Digne got linked to Aston Villa.

Sky Sports reported that the Frenchman, 28, has agreed to join the Midlands outfit ahead of West Ham and Newcastle United, with the club now in advanced negotiations with the Goodison Park outfit.

Bolasie played for both clubs, and he believes Steven Gerrard’s side will be landing a top player in Digne should a January transfer window move work out.

He said: “If Villa get Digne WOW!

“Top Quality.”

Absolutely

Not a lot of players have featured for both Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona, and the France international definitely has something about him.

Rafa Benitez does not mind losing Digne, though, and he has since brought in a replacement in Vitaliy Mykolenko.

Everton play in a different way from what the left-back is used to.

He is having to defend more and was taken off set-pieces, and that has limited his attacking input.

With his assists and goals significantly reduced as a result, Digne knows his chances of playing regularly for France would take a hit.

He made his intentions and feelings known to Benitez and has not played since then.

Gerrard played attacking football while at Rangers and has continued to do so at Villa.

He is being backed by billionaire owners Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens, and they have already made a statement by bringing in Philippe Coutinho on loan from Barca.

Adding the Everton full-back to their squad will be massive too, and the fact that Digne is convinced that Villa are heading in the right direction under Gerrard says a lot about the state of things at Goodison Park.

In other Everton news, the Toffees are plotting January loan-to-buy bid for centre-mid hailed by Jack Grealish last month.
