Belgian FA don’t want to lose Roberto Martinez as Everton close in on new manager
Everton sounded out Roberto Martinez late on Sunday evening to replace Rafa Benitez at Goodison Park, according to HLN.
The Belgian outlet have reported that money could talk with the Toffees wanting to conclude a deal quickly this week.
It is shared that noises have been heard in the corridors of the Belgian FA that they don’t want to lose Martinez in the same year as the next World Cup.

Martinez is said to have been the subject of numerous approaches in recent years but has remained loyal to Belgium.
The likes of Arsenal, Tottenham, Newcastle, Norwich and Aston Villa all made their unique moves to bring him in, to no avail.
As well as that, Real Madrid and Barcelona have also considered their own moves for the Spaniard in years gone by.
But, it is reported that it is different with Everton given his history in Merseyside and at Goodison Park – something which could make all the difference.

Highly-regarded.
Many look at Martinez and instantly turn their noses up after what has happened in the past between the two parties.
After working with some of the best players in the world and taking Belgium to the number one FIFA ranking – could things have changed, though?
Working alongside the likes of Thierry Henry, Martinez could return to Everton a different man and with a much more high-profile backroom staff.
That comes with a cost though, and Moshiri may need to splash the cash once again to secure another big name – something that is yet to work out.
Let’s hope this time it turns out to be different.
