Everton shareholder wants Wayne Rooney at Goodison as he blasts Farhad Moshiri
Everton shareholder and former talkSPORT host Mike Parry wants Wayne Rooney, Peter Reid, Duncan Ferguson and Joe Royle all involved in the next coaching team at Goodison Park.
Rafa Benitez was sacked by the Blues board on Sunday, less than 24 hours after a woeful 2-1 defeat away against relegation-threatened Norwich.
Parry has previously said he wants Rooney in charge and while he’s not so sure in his latest tweet, he definitely wants the Derby manager involved at Goodison in some capacity, as well as other ex-Toffees stars.

“I want Wayne Rooney to be involved where Everton go next and I also want Peter Reid and Big Dunc and Joe Royle.
“I’m not saying any of them will be the next manager of our mightly club but Mr Moshiri has squeezed Evertonianism out of Everton and we have to restore it.”
Inspirational manager
Rooney is kind of a rookie when it comes to management but the 36-year-old is anything but that when it comes to the Premier League – and when it comes to Everton.
The former Toffees striker had two spells at Goodison Park as a player on either side of a legendary stint at Manchester United.
England’s all-time record goalscorer played 117 times in total for the Blues, earning himself a spot in the heart of large sections of the fanbase.
Since starting in management at Derby, Rooney’s also done a stunning job.
With the financial situation at Pride Park being so dire, many expected that Rooney would have walked away by now but instead he’s stayed and done wonders.
Yes, Derby look destined to be relegated by even though they’ve been deducted 21 points this season by the EFL, they’re not even bottom of the table after winning four of their last five games.
Derby defender Curtis Davies hailed his boss as an inspirational leader back in October.
As quoted by the Derby Telegraph [29 October], Davies said: “The manager is the epitome of being loyal and standing by us.
“He doesn’t need this. As a man he doesn’t need it, he’s Wayne Rooney, he’s a football legend, he can walk away from it. Financially he doesn’t need it. He doesn’t need a job to keep earning.
“If you’re a young player in the trenches and you see Wayne Rooney is standing there and he’s saying ‘I’m going to lead you and we’re going to get out of this,’ I think you can only be inspired as a young player.”
Rooney should be a good fit for Everton and Parry does make a good point – for once – in regards to Moshiri.
Ultimately, we want him gone out of the Blues’ boardroom but that doesn’t seem likely to happen any time soon with the new stadium in process.
In other Everton news, this three-times league winner could be lined up to replace Benitez.
