Simon Jordan urges Everton to make move for Ajax manager Erik ten Hag

Everton have been urged by Simon Jordan to look into the possibility of bringing Ajax boss Erik ten Hag through the door.

The Toffees are looking for a manager to replace Rafa Benitez after they sacked him on Sunday (January 16).

A 2-1 defeat against Norwich was the final straw that broke the camel’s back and made the hierarchy spring into action and part ways with the Spaniard.

Speaking about the managerial situation at Everton on talkSPORT, Jordan said, “Everton should be looking at Graham Potter, they should be looking at Frank Lampard.

“They should also be looking at Steve Cooper and the job he’s done at Nottingham Forest and Erik ten Hag at Ajax.”

Tad ambitious

Erik ten Hag is a manager who has been linked with clubs like Bayern Munich and Manchester United.

He’s clearly overachieving at Ajax and has probably outgrown the challenge in the Netherlands.

For Everton to successfully bring him to Goodison Park, plenty of things will have to fall into place.

His demands would also be extraordinary as he could leverage interest from other clubs to get what he wants here.

The Dutch manager would come to Merseyside rated by some of the world’s best.

Whether ten Hag, a manager who’s been labelled “world-class” in the past, can be tempted to join Everton, remains to be seen.

In other Everton news, the club want to sign a player labelled ‘Excellent’ by Cristiano Ronaldo with the European club keen on cashing in.
