Vinnie O’Connor: Duncan Ferguson wants interim Everton manager promise until end of season
Vinnie O’Connor has shared the latest on Duncan Ferguson potentially taking over from Rafa Benitez at Everton this morning.
The Sky Sports reporter was outside of Finch Farm and suggested that Ferguson would want the interim role for the rest of the season.
The Toffees icon has been used before in this role and picked up good results, but may not want it for only two or three games again this time around.

Speaking live on Sky Sports this morning (18 January), O’Connor shared the possibility of Ferguson taking the interim spot.
“As time moves on this week, it will be looking increasingly likely that he will take charge of the side against Aston Villa,” he said.
“But, if he were to take charge of Everton Football Club again, I think the feeling from Duncan Ferguson is, he would welcome the opportunity to do it at least until the end of the season, rather than just one or two games.”
Going that way.
It looks as though this is the way that we will be going again.
Ferguson is often called upon when things get awful at Finch Farm, and that has happened with him taking training today.

Ferguson has proved he can do it at the highest level and giving him that extra responsibility may release him to give the rocket the squad appears to need at this moment in time.
If nothing happens in the next week, it looks as though Ferguson will be set for another crack at the main job temporarily – for how long? Who knows.
