Alan Myers: No solid source suggests Everton want Niko Kovac

Everton are not considering Niko Kovac to be their next manager, according to Sky Sports News editor Alan Myers.

Per a report in the Mirror, the Toffees had the former Bayern Munich manager high up on their priority list.

However, Myers claims that not a single solid source claims that to be true and he does not appear to be in the running as things stand.

When asked about the Kovac links, via his personal Twitter account, Myers wrote, “I’ve not heard that from a solid source tbh.”

Good news

Kovac is not the calibre of manager that Everton should have been looking at, in the first place.

It seems that along with the innumerable names, his was also thrown into the hat to generate some traction online.

As Myers has claimed in his previous tweets, Kovac has never been in the running to succeed Rafa Benitez at Goodison Park.

Everton

Apart from the fact that he once managed Bayern Munich, there’s not a lot in his CV to get excited about.

Instead, what the Toffees need is someone who can come in and unite the dressing room and fans and play an attractive brand of football.

That’s precisely why the links to Wayne Rooney make sense as he’s doing a fantastic job at Derby County.

In other Everton news, the club has been urged to make a move for a ‘World-class’ Champions League manager who’s admired by Pep Guardiola & Jurgen Klopp
