Everton set to miss out on free transfer for goalkeeper Fofana
Everton have received a blow in their bid to sign French goalkeeper Yahia Fofana from Le Havre with Ligue 1 club Angers set to win the race, according to L’Equipe.
The 21-year-old is out of contract at the end of this season and he has attracted interest from a wave of clubs, including Everton.
But according to L’Equipe, Fofana is set to sign a four-year deal at Angers when his current deal with Le Havre expires.

Everton are among several clubs that have missed the chance to sign Fofana along with Fiorentina, Lazio, Lyon and Borussia Dortmund.
Worrying times
This goes for all of the aforementioned clubs, not just Everton, but to be beaten to a transfer by a team as small as Angers is an alarming situation.
There is no universe in which they should be able to offer a better financial packet or opportunity to a player of Fofana’s ability.

They currently sit 12th in Ligue 1 and are hardly pulling up any trees in the process so they shouldn’t really have pulled this off if any of the clubs were seriously interested.
Only AC Ajaccio have conceded less than Le Havre in Ligue 2 this season which says Fofana is surely doing something right and Angers are the lucky club who have nabbed him from some of Europe’s elite.
The Toffees can’t afford to see too many more young talents get swiped from under their nose if they want to be taken seriously as European challengers which is where the club arguably should be.
In other Everton news, Don Hutchinson has urged Everton to hire this Premier League manager who has received high praise this season.
