Vitor Pereira to arrive in England in coming hours for key Everton talks – Fabrizio Romano

Vitor Pereira will arrive in England in the coming hours for vital talks to become the new Everton manager, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Sky Sports journalist has reported that the Toffees are on the verge of an appointment, with key hours and days to come at the start of this week.

Romano shared that Pereira will discuss his contract and staff among other details with the Everton board on Merseyside.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, Romano shared the latest on Periera and his links to Goodison Park.

“Vitor Pereira will be in England in the coming hours to meet with Everton board,” he wrote. “Contract, staff and details to be discussed in order to make the final decision.

“Key hours/days ahead to find out new Everton permanent manager.”

Shocker.

This could turn out to be a massive mistake by the board.

We have heard that far too many times before, but it looks as though they will be going for a left-field appointment which could easily backfire once again.

Farhad Moshiri clearly hasn’t learned his lesson with appointing the likes of Carlo Ancelotti and Rafa Benitez, with another name coming in from Europe.

Pereira doesn’t have the best of records, getting 1860 Munich relegated, although they were in disarray – similar to the Toffees right now.

What must Duncan Ferguson think? He rallied the players much more than we have seen for months against Aston Villa.

He may not say it clearly, but he was ready for that permanent role, but it looks as though he will need to step aside once again.

Fingers crossed this doesn’t backfire.
