Everton owner Farhad Moshiri influenced by agents power
Everton owner Farhad Moshiri always has a few agents in his ear who help him make big decisions at the club, claims Paul Brown.
The Daily Mirror journalist has stated that Moshiri shares a personal relationship with these agents, rather than a private one.
This comes after the Liverpool Echo reported that Kia Joorabchian was in the director’s box for the club’s Premier League game against Aston Villa as the club close in on appointing Vitor Pereira.
Brown told Give Me Sport, “That’s been a problem for a long time. There are two or three agents who are clearly in the owner’s ear all the time that he respects likes and knows on a personal level, rather than just a professional one.
“And that’s not necessarily a great way to run a business or transfer strategy when you’re in charge of a club.”
It’s hard to disagree with Brown here as to why it’s not a problem for Everton.
Having agents in your ears all the time means that you cannot make objective decisions.
They will always have their clients’ best interests at heart and not the club that they are talking to.
The fact that Moshiri is so cosy with them is a bad thing as it hasn’t really reflected with the club making big name signings.
The only star-studded names that came to Goodison Park were under Carlo Ancelotti and that was more to do with the Italian’s pull than Moshiri’s influence.
Everton fans have every reason to worry if their owner constantly makes such decisions.
