Duncan Ferguson spotted by Everton fan on train to London on manager D-Day

Duncan Ferguson has been spotted making his way to London to interview for the permanent Everton manager’s job.

The Mirror has reported that the Blues will decide on their new manager today [28 January] while the Guardian says that Farhad Moshiri is due in London for talks with three candidates: Frank Lampard, Vítor Pereira and Ferguson.

And it seems that interim manager Ferguson is ready to make an impression upon the club’s owner by getting suited and booted before his train ride into the capital.

Everton fan Stu shared an image of himself with Ferguson on a train, adding the caption: “Only bumped into the main man on the train to London.”

He means business

If Big Dunc has a suit on, then you know something very serious is going down.

The Blues coach has made the final three in Moshiri’s bid to hire a new manager and based on the fact the other two candidates are Lampard and Pereira, the Scot is a stand-out.

While things haven’t been great with him already at the club, he has shown in the past that he can get a tune out of the players when given the chance and he also knows where the old coaching teams have been going wrong.

Some may see Ferguson as part of the problem but his role in the mess at Goodison Park is absolutely microscopic.

Lampard failed at Chelsea despite all the money he had to spend. He was well-backed at Derby County too.

He’s since been linked with numerous Premier League jobs but no one went in for him – isn’t there a hint there?

As for Pereira, enough has been said about him that we don’t need to bother but if you want the honest truth, none of these three candidates are great.

In other Everton news, a fourth manager could make a last-ditch play to be the new Toffees boss.
